Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP Performance Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge in SAP performance engineering and performance testing with a strong foundation in end-to-end performance debugging across SAP landscapes. This role involves working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop benchmarks, characterize system performance, and conduct detailed root cause analysis.

Core Responsibilities
Performance Benchmarking & Testing:

Define, develop, and apply performance/scalability benchmarks.

Plan and execute performance tests using automated environments.

Devise and run experiments to evaluate the performance impacts of system changes.

Analysis & Troubleshooting:

Use profiling tools to identify performance bottlenecks.

Conduct thorough root cause analysis and system bottleneck identification.

Troubleshoot performance issues across SAP landscapes, including query execution and memory management.

Collaboration & Quality Assurance:

Work in cross-functional teams to characterize, debug, and improve overall system performance and scalability.

Participate in architecture and design reviews.

Ensure quality in cross-team engineering efforts through continuous feedback and improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Skill Sets
SAP Performance Engineering Skills
SAP Workload Analysis & Profiling: In-depth performance analysis specific to SAP applications.

Query Optimization: Expertise in ABAP and HANA query optimization techniques.

Performance Monitoring: Proficient in using SAP performance monitoring TCodes.

Bottleneck Identification: Experience with system bottleneck identification & troubleshooting.

Indexing & Partitioning: Proven experience with strategies for indexing and partitioning to enhance performance.

Memory Management: Experience in HANA memory management and query execution plan analysis.

End-to-End Debugging: Capable of performing comprehensive performance debugging in SAP landscapes.

Performance Testing (PT) & Performance Engineering (PE) Skills
Performance Testing Expertise: Deep experience in performance testing & engineering of SAP applications.

Performance Monitoring Tools: Skilled with tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, and Splunk for monitoring and profiling.

Web Applications: Experience in performance testing, tuning, and load testing of web-based applications using tools like LoadRunner and JMeter.

Workload Modeling: Hands-on experience in workload modeling and system bottleneck analysis.

Additional Qualifications & Nice-to-Have Skills
Programming: Proficiency in multiple programming languages including Python, Perl, ABAP, Java, and C++.

Performance Testing Tools: Experience with SoapUI and Postman.

JVM Tuning: Extensive hands-on experience with JVM tuning techniques.

Service-Oriented Architecture: Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and performance-tuning SQL queries.

Methodologies: Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.

Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP.

SAP BTP Optimization: Expertise in optimizing SAP BTP components including API management and SAP Integration Suite.

BTP Technologies: Knowledge of Smart Data Integration (SDI) and SCP iOS SDK for mobile app performance testing.

Monitoring in SAP BTP: Experience with application and database monitoring using tools like Kibana and HANA DB cockpit.

Algorithm Understanding: Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms and O-Notation.

Database Proficiency: Solid experience with both relational and in-memory databases.

Version Control: Code management experience using Git.

Minimum Experience & Requirements
Experience:
A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on software testing experience with a strong focus on performance testing of SAP applications.

Tools & Technologies:
Demonstrated expertise in performance testing and monitoring tools coupled with a strong background in performance tuning across various system components.
